Spinboss account blocked: reasons, fixes and your balance

Most Spinboss blocks are temporary and lift once you supply a document, answer an affordability question or wait out a security lock. A few, such as self-exclusion, cannot be reversed early.

A blocked account is one of the most stressful problems a player can hit, especially with money on the balance. The good news is that most Spinboss blocks are procedural: the operator needs something from you or is legally required to pause play until a check finishes. This guide explains each reason and the fastest route back in.

Why Spinboss blocks accounts

UK-licensed casinos must verify identity, prevent underage and excluded people from gambling, and check affordability. Spinboss also protects itself against fraud and bonus abuse. These are the common reasons we see.

Suspended, restricted, closed or self-excluded?

These words mean different things, and the difference matters for your money.

  • Restricted: you can log in, but some features are off, such as deposits, bonuses or withdrawals, until a check finishes.
  • Suspended: you cannot play or move money while Spinboss investigates. Your balance is frozen, not taken.
  • Closed: the account relationship has ended, either at your request or Spinboss’s decision. Cash balances should be returned once checks are complete.
  • Self-excluded: you chose to block yourself, or GAMSTOP did it for you. The block cannot be removed early, and Spinboss must not market to you during the period.

What happens to your balance

During a suspension or restriction, the money stays where it is. Once the issue is fixed, normal play and withdrawals resume. When an account is closed or self-excluded, Spinboss should let you withdraw your remaining cash balance after verification. Bonus funds are normally removed on closure because they are not withdrawable cash.

The exception is a proven terms breach. If Spinboss can show you ran multiple accounts or played in a way the bonus terms forbid, it may void related winnings. Ask for the exact clause in writing; you will need it if you complain.

How to get your Spinboss account unblocked

  1. Read the message. Check the on-screen notice, your email (including spam) and the Spinboss inbox for the stated reason.
  2. Wait out automatic locks. A password lock clears after 30 minutes. A location error clears once you turn off the VPN and connect from Great Britain.
  3. Upload what is asked. For verification, follow our KYC verification guide so the documents are accepted first time.
  4. Answer affordability questions honestly. Send the payslips or statements requested; partial answers restart the clock.
  5. Open live chat. If the reason is unclear, ask the 24/7 agent what is outstanding and for a reference number.
  6. Follow up by email ticket. Use the Help Centre contact form so you have a written record of what you sent and when.

What not to do

  • Do not open a second account. Duplicate accounts are against the terms, and the new account will almost certainly be found and closed too, possibly with winnings voided.
  • Do not raise a chargeback with your bank. Reversing a deposit while the account is under review usually turns a temporary suspension into a closure and adds a debt.
  • Do not use a VPN to get around a location block. It makes the problem worse.
  • Do not send someone else’s documents or edit documents. That is fraud and ends the account permanently.

When a block is permanent

Self-exclusion is the clearest case. If you self-excluded for 6 months to 5 years at Spinboss, or registered with GAMSTOP, the block runs its full term and no agent can lift it early. That is deliberate. If you are finding the wait hard, GamCare and the National Gambling Helpline on 0808 8020 133 are free, confidential and open 24/7. Our responsible gambling guide lists more support.

Accounts closed for fraud, confirmed multiple accounts or unpaid chargebacks are also usually permanent.

Complaints and ADR

If you think a block is wrong or has gone on too long:

  1. Ask Spinboss to log a formal complaint under its complaints procedure. The operator should give you a final response within 8 weeks.
  2. If you are still unhappy, take it to the ADR provider named in the Spinboss terms (for example IBAS). The service is free and independent.
  3. The Gambling Commission does not resolve individual disputes, but you can report concerns about an operator’s conduct.

For other account issues, return to the troubleshooting hub or read our support guide.

Questions players ask

Why has my Spinboss account been blocked?

+

The usual reasons are unfinished identity checks, a suspected duplicate account, a GAMSTOP or self-exclusion match, a pending affordability check, a chargeback, a bonus-terms breach, five wrong password attempts, or logging in from outside Great Britain or through a VPN. The message or email Spinboss sends normally tells you which one applies.

Do I lose my balance if Spinboss suspends my account?

+

Not normally. A suspension or restriction freezes activity while Spinboss checks something, and your cash balance stays on the account. If the account is closed, withdrawable cash should be returned to you after checks, although winnings linked to a proven terms breach, such as multiple accounts, can be voided under the T&Cs.

Can Spinboss lift my self-exclusion early?

+

No. A self-exclusion of 6 months to 5 years cannot be lifted early under UK rules, and neither can a GAMSTOP registration during its minimum period. This protects you, so support agents will refuse even if you ask. If you are struggling, the National Gambling Helpline is free on 0808 8020 133.

How long does it take to unblock a Spinboss account?

+

A password lock clears after 30 minutes. Document checks usually take up to 24 hours and up to 72 hours at busy times. Affordability or source-of-funds reviews depend on how quickly you send the paperwork. Duplicate-account and bonus-abuse investigations can take longer because Spinboss has to review your play history.
