Why credit cards and crypto are not available
Two methods you may see at offshore sites are missing from the UK cashier, by design.
- Credit cards are banned for UK gambling. The Gambling Commission has prohibited them since April 2020, so Spinboss accepts Visa and Mastercard debit cards only.
- Crypto is not available on UK accounts. Crypto bonus? Here is the UK version: the Wednesday Wallet Boost, a 25% reload up to £100 when you deposit £20 or more by PayPal, Skrill, Neteller or Apple Pay, with 10x wagering and 7 days to complete it. See promotions for the full terms.
Fees
Spinboss does not charge for deposits or withdrawals. Your own providers still might:
- A few card issuers add a charge on gambling transactions.
- E-wallets such as Skrill and Neteller can charge for loading the wallet or withdrawing to your bank.
- If any account in the chain is not held in pounds, a currency conversion fee may apply.
Check your provider’s tariff if you are unsure.
The closed-loop rule
The cashier follows the standard UK anti-money-laundering practice known as closed loop: withdrawals return to the method you deposited with wherever possible. If you deposited with PayPal, your winnings go back to that PayPal account.
There are two exceptions. Paysafecard is deposit-only, and Apple Pay cannot receive payouts, so winnings from those deposits are paid to your bank account by transfer or to your debit card.
Limits and how deposit limits interact
The per-transaction limits in the tables are the cashier’s ceilings. Two other kinds of limit sit on top of them:
- Your own deposit limits. You can set daily, weekly and monthly deposit limits in your Spinboss account. Decreases take effect instantly; increases only apply after a 24-hour cooling-off period. Whichever limit is lowest wins, so a £100 daily limit stops a £500 PayPal deposit even though PayPal allows up to £5,000.
- Affordability checks. UK rules require affordability checks once spending reaches certain levels; deposits may be restricted until you provide payslips or bank statements.
Setting limits is one of the most useful responsible gambling tools available, and we recommend doing it on day one.
