Jackpot slots promise the biggest prizes in the Spinboss lobby, and the “Jackpots” tab gathers them in one place. We opened a case file on how they actually work, because a jackpot’s headline figure tells you little about your chances or how the prize is paid.
This guide covers the three main jackpot types, featured games from our lobby, how wins are verified and paid, and how jackpots affect bonus wagering.
Three types of jackpot
| Type | How the prize is set | Where it comes from | Example |
|---|---|---|---|
| Progressive | Grows with every qualifying bet until won, then resets | A share of stakes, often pooled across many casinos | Networked progressive slots in the Jackpots tab |
| Fixed | A set amount or multiple of your stake | Shown in the game paytable | Many classic and video slots |
| Hold and Win | Fixed jackpot tiers awarded during a respin feature | Landing jackpot symbols in the bonus | Vegas Blitz Hold and Win |
Progressive jackpots
A progressive jackpot grows as players stake money on the game. A small slice of each bet feeds the pot until one player wins, and then it resets to a seed amount. Networked progressives pool stakes across many casinos, which is why their top prizes can be so large. Local progressives pool only within one site and usually stay smaller.
Fixed jackpots
A fixed jackpot pays a set prize, shown in the paytable, often as a multiple of your stake. Because the prize scales with your bet, a lower stake means a lower top prize.
Hold and Win jackpots
Hold and Win games trigger a respin feature when you land enough coin symbols. Coins lock in place, each new coin resets the respins, and special symbols award named jackpot tiers, usually Mini, Minor, Major and Grand. Filling the whole grid often pays the Grand. These prizes are normally fixed multiples of your stake.

How jackpot wins are paid and verified
A large win sets off checks that protect both you and the operator:
- Game verification – Spinboss and the game provider check the game logs to confirm the win was legitimate. For networked progressives, the provider pays the pot and the casino credits it.
- Account verification – your identity, age and address must be fully verified before any withdrawal. See our KYC verification guide.
- Source of funds – for large wins or high spending, Spinboss may ask for payslips or bank statements as part of UK affordability rules.
- Withdrawal – after Spinboss’s review step of up to 24 hours, the money goes out by your chosen method. Very large sums may be paid by bank transfer, which handles up to £20,000 per withdrawal.
| Method | Time after approval | Limit per withdrawal |
|---|---|---|
| PayPal / Skrill / Neteller | 0–24 hours | £10 – £5,000 |
| Trustly / Open Banking | Same day – 1 working day | £10 – £10,000 |
| Visa / Mastercard debit | 1–3 working days | £10 – £5,000 |
| Bank transfer | 1–3 working days | £50 – £20,000 |
Spinboss charges no withdrawal fees, and UK rules mean a withdrawal cannot be reversed back into play. Our withdrawals guide covers the full process, and withdrawal problems explains what to do if a payout is delayed.
Jackpot slots and bonus wagering
Jackpot slots contribute 0% to the wagering on the Spinboss welcome bonus of 100% up to £1,000 + 200 free spins.
| Game type | Contribution to the 10x wagering |
|---|---|
| Standard slots | 100% |
| Live casino and table games | 10% |
| Jackpot slots | 0% |
If you are working through a bonus, stakes on jackpot games will not move your wagering target at all. Clear the bonus on standard slots first, then play jackpot games with your cash balance. Our wagering requirements guide and promotions page have the details.
A realistic note on the odds
The top prize on a progressive jackpot is one of the rarest results in gambling. The odds can run into millions of spins, and studios rarely publish them. Part of each stake funds the jackpot, which can mean lower returns from the base game. Hold and Win games award their Mini and Minor tiers far more often, but the Grand remains rare.
Remember that the £5 per spin limit (£2 if aged 18–24) applies to jackpot slots too. If you find yourself chasing a jackpot or spending more than you planned, use the tools on our responsible gambling page or call the National Gambling Helpline on 0808 8020 133.

Our verdict
The Spinboss jackpot section gives you a sensible mix: big networked progressives for the dream prize and Hold and Win games such as Vegas Blitz Hold and Win that land smaller jackpot tiers more often. Get verified before you play, keep jackpot games out of your bonus wagering and treat any win as a pleasant surprise rather than a plan.
